Chinese Culture & Historical Exhibits
- AsianInfo, a commercial site that provides a wide range of historical and cultural information about China, e.g., history, celebrations, and literature.
- CHINA: Exploring the Interior, 1903-1904 is a traveling exhibit produced in association with the Chinese Room of the Newport (R.I.) Public Library, and the Maine Humanities Council.
- Ethnic Minorities in China introduces the 56 official ethnic groups that make up the Chinese population and provides a glimpse into the rich traditions and customs that define Chinese culture.
- Five-College Center for East Asian Studies, a source for Asia-related programs and events around New England.
- Maine Memory Network, Maine’s Online Museum—Images of Chinese in Maine.
- Peabody Essex Museum, Salem, MA, location of the late Qing dynasty merchants’ house, Yin Yu Tang, that was moved from southeastern China and re-erected in the Museum.
- Primary Source, a Massachusetts-based organization with a program office in Maine, promoting history and humanities education by connecting educators to people and cultures throughout the world, with a particular emphasis on East Asia.
- The Taipei Economic and Cultural Representative Office in the U.S. represents the interests of the government and people of the Republic of China on Taiwan and is dedicated to promoting close and friendly relations between Taiwan and the United States.
