Maine Chinese Conference

Dear CAFAM members,

The 2011 Maine Chinese Conference will be held on October 28-29, at Husson University in Bangor. (This is the conferences third year.)

The conference theme is: “Creating cooperative opportunities in education and business between US and China through promoting Chinese language teaching in Maine and establishing local business partnerships between the peoples of these two global powers”.

The primary audience is school administrators, board members, teachers, parents, members of institutions of higher education, students, entrepreneurs, and interested others.

The keynote speaker will be Eliot Cutler, attorney and recently independent candidate for Governor. He will speak on How Maine and China May Come Together.

For registrants before October 15 the fee is $150/person (two days); $125/person (one day). Space is limited and registrations are “first come, first served.” This conference is expected to fill quickly, so early registration is advised.

The conference is hosted by the Chinese Language and Culture Center of Maine (CCLCM) and BangorChineseSchool, in collaboration with the Maine Department of Education, the College of Liberal Arts and Sciences of University of Maine, Maine International Trade Center, the City of Bangor, HussonUniversity and OronoHigh School. The event is sponsored by LeeAcademy, JohnBapstMemorialHigh School, and Hanban/Consulate General of China in NYC.
