CAFAM seeks helpers to install exhibit

Dear CAFAM members,

We are in need of some volunteer help (about 3 hours in late afternoon on Monday May 20 or Tuesday May 21) depending on who’s available.

This summer USM will be hosting an exhibition of photographs of north China and the Yangzi River taken in 1903-4 by R. Harvey Sargent, a member of a scientific expedition. His grandson and CAFAM member Bob Sargent has created a wonderfully informative exhibition of enlarged, framed pictures with explanatory captions. You can get a sense of it by going to http://www.chinaexhibit.me/. How different China was then, as compared to now!

The display will be installed in the 7th-floor reading room in USM’s Glickman Library, and we need a few people to help hang the pictures. If you’d like to help out, please contact me, stating your time availability, at dietrich.

Here’s one of the photographs:

Best,
Craig
