PICNIC IN THE PARK

Dear CAFAM members,

Next Sunday, June 23, CAFAM will hold its annual Picnic in the Park. It starts at around 11:00am at beautiful Winslow Park in Freeport.

We have reserved a shelter. There are grills, picnic tables, acres of lawn, a pretty little beach, horseshoe spikes, volleyball net, and more. A fun place for kids.

Everyone bring a dish to share: Chinese, Western, Whatever. CAFAM will supply drinks, plates, cups, knives and forks. (Note that the park does not permit alcohol.)

After some hellos, some food, some dessert, some laughs, we will hold a brief meeting at which we elect our CAFAM Board of Directors for the coming year.

We need some fresh faces on the board. The board meets on the second Thursday of each month (except June, July, and August) at 6:30 pm in Portland. Qualifications are an interest in CAFAM’s goals and activities and a willingness to help out. (You don’t necessarily have to attend the picnic to be a candidate for the board.) If you want to give it a try, please inform Cynthia Setchell (setchell@live.com) or 871-9889. Or just come to the picnic.

Directions: Coming either from north or south, get onto Rte 1. In south Freeport you’ll see the big Indian statue by the side of the road. Near there is a blinking light where you’ll turn onto South Freeport Road. Go about a mile and take a right onto Staples Point Road (there is a wooden sign for Winslow Park there). Stay on Staples Point Road all the way to the end.

Best,
Alex
