Dear CAFAM members,
Oriental Jade will celebrate the Year of the Horse with festivities Friday, January 31st beginning at 3:00pm. The celebrants will be greeted with the traditional Lion Dance, a Chinese New Year Parade at the Bangor Mall culminating with a fireworks display at 5 pm in front of the Oriental Jade.
There will be a daily Authentic Chinese New Year Feast, based on the Legendary “General Tso’s Banquet” featuring specially created dishes of customer favorites, traditional dishes and delicious surprises for a unique dining experience! They will also find many free, family-oriented festivities through February 3rd: traditional Chinese music, the lion dance with drums, special children’s entertainment, and Chinese calligraphy demonstrations.
A new display honoring the long history of Maine-China trade will feature photographs, printings and many unique artifacts including figurines, vases, tea sets, chests and unique clothing from the past. Steve Robbins, Special Event Planner, will be coordinating and presenting the Exhibit. We are looking for help from our Network. If anyone has items that they would like to showcase in the Exhibit, please email or send us a picture with description, its estimated value and dimensions of the items so we can plan out the Exhibit.
We will have insurance coverage for all the exhibited items. However, we would only prefer items that are not overly valuable.
Please contact Lilian Lo of Oriental Jade at 207-947-6969 or email lili@orentialjade.com for further information.
Best,
Alex
