Ya Ji: Language and Identity

Dear CAFAM members,

“Language and Identity” is the focus of the latest in the series of Ya Ji East/West Cultural Gatherings hosted by Fox Intercultural Consulting.

Three artists will discuss their work, from the lyrical poetry of hip-hop artist Lady Zen, to the striking photography of the Beijing-born, Rockport-based photographer Ni Rong, to the storytelling prowess of Portland-based writer Frank O Smith. All of the artists weave Eastern and Western traditions into their work and their lives.

“Language & Identity” will be held Tuesday, May 12th, 2015, 5-7 pm
(5-5:30pm tea and conversation; 5:30-7 pm artist talk) at ICA, Maine College of Art, 522 Congress St., Portland.

The event is free. Chinese tea will be provided.
