Dear CAFAM Members,

The Portland Ballet’s executive director Michael Greer wishes to show his appreciation for being invited to CAFAM’s Moon Festival celebration by extending an invitation to CAFAM members to an upcoming ballet show, opening this Friday. Here is the information:

Friday, Oct 23rd – 7pm, $30
Saturday, Oct 24 – 3pm, $25; 7pm, $30

For our loyal Halloween-season audiences, “Three Tales by Poe” will offer sleek, haunting original choreography inspired by the mysterious short stories of one of America’s most beloved Romantic authors, Edgar Allan Poe.
Poe’s mastery of the macabre offers ideal material for the choreographic creativity of Portland Ballet Company’s Artistic Director, Nell Shipman, whose prior original works include the acclaimed “The Armed Man.”
Ms. Shipman pairs Poe’s eerie tales with the ghostly beauty of music by contemporary American composers – the result, in the intimate setting of Portland Ballet’s Studio Theater, is guaranteed to produce an evening of unearthly beauty for all ages

–Michael Greer, executive director, Portland Ballet
