Updated Chinese New Year Information

Dear CAFAM members,

Come celebrate the Chinese New Year on Saturday, February 2, 10 am-3 pm, at Westbrook Performing Arts Center, Westbrook.

We have an exciting day of programs for adults and children, including:
Dance performance and lion dancers, arts & crafts, Chinese food, games, vendors, talks and demonstrations. We’ll also feature a performance of traditional Chinese string instrument, the erhu, by an acclaimed musician coming here from Boston.

The talks and demonstrations include a range of interesting topics, including:
– US/China Relations
– Chinese Music
– Tai Chi
– Cooking Demonstration
– Chinese Tea

Activities and crafts will be available throughout the day starting at 10:00. Chinese food will be on sale beginning at 11:30.

The event is sponsored by the Chinese and American Friendship Association of Maine and USM Confucius Institute.

The Chinese & American Friendship Association of Maine provides forums and outreach to promote awareness of and appreciation for Chinese culture. We promote friendship between non-Chinese Americans, Chinese-Americans, and Chinese people, whether from the People’s Republic of China, Taiwan, Malaysia, Singapore, or elsewhere.
