Chinese New Year parade in Bangor

Dear CAFAM members:

We are glad that some of you were able to come to our celebration on Saturday. If you’re looking for a chance to keep celebrating, here is a message from our Bangor community friends:

This Saturday (Feb. 9th) Maine China Network will be hosting our 8th Chinese New Year Parade at Bangor Mall. Participation is FREE, come as an individual or bring your business banner! Line up is at 12:30PM at the JC Penney court (the area inside of the Bangor Mall, in front of JCPenney). Parade starts at 1PM.

There will be lion dances, people dressed in their holiday dresses, children will receive red envelopes. There will be crafts for children before the parade.

Hope to see you there!

Wishing you a Happy, Healthy & Prosperous New Year!

Language Table Reminder Feb 27th

Dear CAFAM members,

This month, February 27th, from 12pm-1pm, the Mandarin roundtable will be held at The Language Exchange, 75 Market Street, Suite 305 (3rd floor) in downtown Portland.

These roundtables are open to all interested — members and non-members of CAFAM, students and non-students of The Language Exchange — and to all levels of Mandarin Chinese.

Come and partake in fun and informal conversations in Mandarin and get to know a community of like-minded people. Feel free to bring your lunch.
