Dear CAFAM members,
Come with a CAFAM group to enjoy the Chinese Dragon Boat Races on the Charles River in Cambridge, MA, on Sunday, June 9th.
We will be traveling via a Concord Coach Co. bus from the Portland Transportation Center on Thompson’s Point in Portland on the 8:15 bus (there’s also a 9:15 bus for those who aren’t early risers) which will get us to Boston’s South Station by 10:25. We should get to Cambridge, near Harvard Square, via the Boston subway, before the Chinese cultural activities begin at noon.
The address is the Charles River Weeks Footbridge, 948 Memorial Drive in Cambridge if you want to drive there. Round trip bus fare is $36 for adults and $20 for kids between 5 & 11.
A CAFAM group went several years ago and had a great time. There will be Chinese and other food on site, plus lion dances and other dances, drumming, arts and crafts activities, plus the dragon boat races which are exciting and will last all day. If you come on the 9:15 bus I’m sure you will be able to find us.
You can get a bus home from South Station every hour beginning at 4:15 until 11:15 p.m. So, you can be home early evening or stay for a meal in Chinatown if you want and be home later. The only cost will be for your transportation and whatever food and incidentals you may buy.
