China study scholarships for HS students

Dear CAFAM members,

The following is from the Bangor Daily News.  Note the extremely short deadline.  (If I were interested I would beg for a little more time!)

Best regards,
Craig

The Chinese Learning and Cultural Center of Maine and the Bangor Chinese School have announced 20 scholarships for eligible Maine high school students (US citizens with 2.5 GPA) to study in and explore five cities across China for a period of six weeks.

Students ages 15-18 are eligible to apply whether they have had any language education or not, but intensive training will be required before leaving.  Language instruction also will be provided in China at the beginner, intermediate and advanced levels.

The scholarships will cover lodging, dining, transportation and educational expenses.

Anyone interested in the July 17 to Aug. 28 trip can visit the Bangor Chinese School’s website at http://www.bangorchinese.com or contact the school at 990-0710 for more information on the application process.

Application must submitted by April 5.
